Angling
Halls pit. Nothing to report.
Ocean pit. Plenty of roach feeding in most swims to groundbait feeder, with red maggot, corn and worm as hook baits. A tench over 8lbs was caught by a carp angler, some carp to 20 lbs have also come out. One angler had five eels when pleasure fishing.
Bottle pit. Plenty of tench and carp have been caught this season so far, but
the fish have gone off the feed at the moment.
Club and Middle pits. Both fishing well for all species on most baits.
No 1 pit, Carp still the main species for the anglers fishing this pit, but some good bags of roach and bream can also be caught using the right tactics.
Weybread Fisheries. Plenty of skimmers, tench and small carp to pleasure anglers; specimen carp to the more dedicated carp angler.

Magpies Gear Up for the New Season
Harleston Magpies Hockey Club have restructured their youth coaching set up to cope with the increasing demand of young people wishing to take up the game and take part in the coaching sessions and games arranged for all levels. The club's successes at senior level have been achieved as a result of the stream of young players who have graduated through the youth development programme. This programme has been run by the club's youth development officer, Nick McAllen ably assisted by a number of parents, ex players and coaches. One such ex player and parent is Stuart Peters who has recently been appointed the Boys Development Officer. In the late nineties Stuart captained the men's first team in the national league but has recently been assisting with mini hockey, under sixteen and eighteen indoor and playing in the men's development team, a group especially dedicated to developing young boys in an adult league.
