With a huge donation of £2500 from Bullock Fair Charity shop we were able to go “live” on 13th October with a call out within our first hour, closely followed by a second one 2 hours later. With a team of 6 trained volunteers with 10 planned to undergo training at the end of Jan 09 we provide 24 hour cover for Harleston, Withersdale, Mendham, Metfield, Fressingfield, Weybread and anywhere else we can get to within reason. We can only be called via the usual 999 system and are dispatched once your call reaches ambulance control. All information regarding calls is confidential however, we are able to provide statistics for information.
October calls included Abdominal pain , Diabetic, Breathing problems, Falls Heart problems and Fitting.
Currently we are attending approximately 6 calls per week. Our next aim is to raise
enough money to purchase an additional kit to provide faster response times and to
develop our website. Donations can be made to our Waveney Valley Community Responder
