Grapevine boxes and new deadline time
In recent years the public in general has become comfortable with the use of emailing and most of our articles and notices are now received in this form. Our email address for submitting articles is content@harlestongrapevine.com. We do still receive some hand written notices in our boxes around the town; however, these are fewer in number. With this in mind, we have decided to withdraw two of the lesser used boxes, at the library and Budgens. Please use the boxes at the Post Office or Harleston Information Centre instead. If you are unaware of their exact location, the box in the Post Office is placed at floor level immediately on your right as you walk in. The box at the Information Centre, stands at floor level in front of the reception desk.
The deadline date of the twelfth of the month for receipt of notices etc, remains the same, but please note that we have introduced a deadline time of NOON on the twelfth of the month.
May we also take this opportunity to remind everyone that we often work several weeks
ahead when we produce the Grapevine and that timing is critical. Deadlines are
always early in December (for the January issue), because the printer's deadline
is earlier, so we appreciate this can throw us all out of our usual routine. However,
in early December we received a few Christmas-
Another important reminder is that we need a contact phone number, in addition to a name, on all notices or articles so that we can speak to you if we have a query.
Diamond Jubilee Party in the Park
Plans for this event continue with more and more people offering to be part of the event. We very much want to have a 1950s feel to the whole party so if you have any ideas for things which are particularly of that era or especially relevant in other ways please do let us know and we will try to see that it is included. We are hoping to have music, memorabilia, food and activities all from that time, including a fancy dress competition using crepe paper. More information will be in future issues of the Grapevine.
